Food Day
On the last day of class we will wrap up our study of world languages with an international food tasting party. We will collect voluntary donations to put together a table full of different foods to taste test. We typically sample French crêpes with Nutella, Mexican candies and chips, Japanese candies, seaweed, and Ramune soda. We also throw in some challenge items like dried squid and chocolate bars with chili in them, which surprisingly enough, turn out to be pretty popular. If students are interested, and know of a food from another country they would like to bring in to share, we can expand our buffet even more. We will ask for a small donation to help cover the cost of soda and food, if students would like to participate. Students are NOT required to bring anything to class. We all love Food Day! The students have a great time, and it is a real thrill for me as a teacher to see students open their minds to trying new things.
